Connecting University Talent with AI's Future

Masayoshi Son built SoftBank around a core belief that true value emerges from connecting seemingly unrelated systems to create new ecosystems. This philosophy guided me as I built NYU's entrepreneurship accelerator, where we helped student-founded companies raise over $4M and secure Y Combinator acceptance. But I realized something more profound: individual startups are interesting, but the real opportunity lies in building infrastructure that fundamentally transforms how talent and opportunity intersect.

AI is creating a new economic paradigm—one where specialized knowledge is directly valuable, not just as credentials for future employment. This shift coincides with higher education's desperate need for relevance and new revenue sources. The Center for Human Intelligence sits at this intersection.

We're creating an unprecedented bridge between two powerful ecosystems: America's $600B higher education system and the rapidly expanding AI industry. The mechanics are simple but transformative:

  1. AI labs need high-quality specialized data training but struggle to find it
  2. University students possess domain expertise but lack pathways to monetize it
  3. Universities need new revenue sources and ways to demonstrate practical value

Our model connects these dots: AI labs contract specialized projects through the Center. We deploy these through university partnerships—structured as clubs or for-credit classes. Students apply their knowledge, generating immediate income while building relevant skills. Universities receive revenue share and enhanced placement outcomes. AI companies access precisely the knowledge they need.

In ten years, students will view AI training as a natural way to apply their education and generate income. Universities will see AI partnerships as essential revenue streams. And AI companies will have structured access to specialized human intelligence at unprecedented scale.

We're building this future today.
